Nomen
Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
Nomen is an app for Mac, iPhone and iPad that renames PDF files using Apple Intelligence running on your own device. It is made by typif.ai (“we”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
What we collect
Nothing. Nomen does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data. It contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code, and it has no servers or accounts.
Your documents
When you add a document, Nomen reads text from its opening pages on your device and passes it to Apple's on-device language model to suggest a filename. The contents of your documents are never sent to us or to any third party. Nomen changes only the names of files you choose to rename, and only after you confirm.
What stays on your device
- Your naming templates and the template you last chose.
- Permission to rename files in folders you have granted Nomen access to.
- Publication spellings you have asked Nomen to remember.
These are kept in the app's own local storage. Deleting Nomen deletes them.
Purchases
Nomen Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. Nomen asks the App Store, on your device, whether you hold Pro. Apple's handling of purchase information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple Intelligence
Nomen uses only Apple's on-device model. It does not use Private Cloud Compute or any other server-based model.
Children
Nomen collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
